About Better Line
Not all lines are created equal. A spread of -10.5 at -110 can be better or worse than -11.5 at +100 depending on the implied true line. This calculator uses the normal CDF to compute the implied true spread/total from each line + odds combination, then compares them. The line with less embedded vig (higher implied spread or lower implied total for overs) is the better line. Sport-specific standard deviations account for scoring variance.
